Her Kai & I - ASEYE STUDIO
Her Kai and I is a philanthropy-driven brand founded by Asia and Kyrie Irving, rooted in community and intentional storytelling. Every design carries meaningful messaging that highlights and uplifts different parts of the community - from schools and local businesses to Black artists and fellow entrepreneurs.
The brand exists to give back, create impact, and keep community at the center of everything we do.In addition to Her Kai and I, Asia Irving also leads her own fashion brand as a designer, and I have the opportunity to support that team as well.I initially joined to assist with social media, but over time my role has organically expanded. Because our team is small and intimate, I’ve been able to step into multiple areas of the creative process and grow across disciplines. My strongest skill lies in ideation & story telling - taking a concept from the earliest stages of design all the way through to marketing and final execution.
Along the way, I’ve gained hands-on experience in design, production, styling, social media strategy, video editing, marketing, capturing behind-the-scenes content, set design, campaign ideation, and even managing Pinterest. Being part of a small team has allowed me to continuously learn, adapt, and contribute wherever needed to bring each vision to life.

SET DESIGN
ASEYE STUDIO
We started with an empty cement room and turned it into a locker room. I had the amazing opportunity to work alongside and shadow set designer, Ashleigh Bradshaw, in bringing Aseye Studio’s Tunnel Vision campaign to life. I supported the creative process from the ground up - prepping/sourcing props, physically unloading and altering materials, and fine-tuning on-set details to add thoughtful, personal touches that elevated the final look and told the story such as getting personalized towels, vinyls, branding different sports equipment.
Vision
The concept centered around “Tunnel Vision,” where our goal was to recreate the energy of an NBA walkout tunnel alongside a nostalgic school locker room environment. This dual setting highlighted the sporty collection while reinforcing an athletic aesthetic rooted in personal identity and reflection which was the original inspiration of how the clothing designs were made. Watching an empty concrete studio transform into a school set and NBA-inspired tunnel was an incredibly rewarding experience. Working alongside Ashleigh was an honor and such a spoiled experience to have her guidance as it was my first time officially assisting on set design!

WINDOW DESIGN
When I was 12 I watched a movie of a girl living in the city designing window displays. It never even crossed my mind that that was a job choice, and a whole new world of opportunities had opened up in my mind and my mind was set. This February, I had the special opportunity to lead the window design for the Aseye Studio Valentine’s Day pop-up hosted at Bergen American Furs & Fashion in Montclair, NJ. For this one-day activation, I curated a comprehensive mood board to define the visual direction, developed a prop list, and sourced all materials to bring the concept together seamlessly, then executed the vision in person day of.

The day of we cleared the window space and created a world where both companies could live together. We told a story to tell people why they were here and what world they were walking into from styling the mannequins to creating the world they sit in. Coming up with the ideas is the fun part, the crucial part is the execution. Apart of this vision was to create a tier system to the base of the window to create depth. This experience challenged me to be resourceful and think of innovative ways that were not permanent or heavy lifting in order to execute this vision. After creating the tiers I added an extra large curtain over top and used draping techniques to add a more elevated mature look. Since customers will be seeing both sides of this display It was important to me that is was engaging and visually pleasing from inside and outside of the store. This experience strengthened my ability to merge creativity with practicality in order to tell a cohesive visual story. Now, in my 20s, I can officially say my dreams have come true, how cool is that? So to my 12 year old self, thanks for being excited and seeing the vision for me, we did it.
